Description

The bowl is mirror-polished, round, and precisely formed. The handle is smooth and slim — and deliberately darkened through an oxidisation process that gives it a deep charcoal tone with a subtle, natural variation in surface colour. Not painted, not coated — the darkness is in the metal itself. Against the bright polish of the bowl, the contrast is quiet and considered.

Made by artisans of Pilimathalawa, Kandy, where surface treatment is understood as craft in its own right — not an afterthought applied to a finished piece, but a decision made at the making stage.

Each piece is finished by hand. Natural variation in the oxidised surface is characteristic of the process, not a defect — no two pieces will be identical.
