Dinesh-Gratian Perera

After a successful career in advertising—where he last served as Creative Director at one of Sri Lanka’s leading agencies—Dinesh embraced entrepreneurship to channel his creativity toward meaningful impact. His years in advertising gave him deep insights into a wide range of industries, along with an awareness of their social and environmental effects. Through Goodfolks, he now applies the same creative spirit and strategic thinking to build something more purposeful—using creativity as a force for positive change and better outcomes for people and the planet.

Anne Perera

For many years, Anne produced and presented a business documentary series highlighting Sri Lankan SMEs. That experience gave her a front-row view of the island’s entrepreneurial spirit—the opportunities, the challenges, and the remarkable individuals driving success with distinctly local character. Years later, during the quiet of the pandemic, those stories and insights inspired a new mission: to help such businesses grow beyond their limitations. Goodfolks was born from that calling—to enable the next generation of Sri Lankan success stories by addressing the real challenges that keep entrepreneurial dreams in pause.

Why we started

Sri Lanka is blessed with exceptional natural ingredients and skilled producers, yet many small businesses struggle to earn what their work is truly worth. We started Goodfolks to change that. We saw the need for a bridge — one that helps local producers refine their craft, reach new markets, and build long-term livelihoods through fair value realisation. At the same time, people everywhere are seeking food that’s honest, sustainable, and good for them.

Goodfolks was created to bring those two worlds together — empowering small producers while offering consumers food that’s pure, purposeful, and proudly Sri Lankan. Every jar, pouch, and bottle we make carries that shared promise of progress, fairness, and care.
