Description
Cool steel meets warm coconut wood. The tines are mirror-polished and precisely formed; the handle is hand-turned from Sri Lankan coconut timber — its dark, close grain visible and unhidden, each piece carrying a slightly different pattern from the last. Polished steel bolster caps at each end complete the join cleanly, grounding the piece without over-finishing it.
Coconut wood is one of Sri Lanka’s most distinctive natural materials — dense, dark, and deeply grained, harvested from mature coconut palms that have reached the end of their productive life. Nothing is wasted; the timber is a byproduct of a tree that has already given everything it can. Made by artisans of Pilimathalawa, Kandy, where the combination of metalwork and woodcraft reflects a tradition of working across materials with equal discipline.
Each piece is finished by hand. Natural grain variation in the coconut wood handle means no two pieces are identical — this is the character of the material, not a defect.
