Description
At first glance, a table fork. On closer inspection, something considerably more considered. The tines are mirror-polished and precisely formed; the handle runs slender and straight before narrowing through a hand-applied wire wrap — and then ends in a tight, hand-formed scroll. It is a small flourish that takes real skill to execute cleanly, and it changes the entire character of the piece.
Part of the same craft tradition as the Loop Handle Serving Spoon — the same workshop, the same wire-wrap discipline, a different terminal. Together they speak a coherent design language rooted in Pilimathalawa’s metalwork heritage.
Each piece is finished by hand. Slight variation in the wire wrap and scroll is the nature of the craft, not a defect.
