Founder(S)

Dinesh-Gratian Perera

After a successful career in advertising—where he last served as Creative Director at one of Sri Lanka’s leading agencies—Dinesh embraced entrepreneurship to channel his creativity toward meaningful impact. His years in advertising gave him deep insights into a wide range of industries, along with an awareness of their social and environmental effects. Through Goodfolks, he now applies the same creative spirit and strategic thinking to build something more purposeful—using creativity as a force for positive change and better outcomes for people and the planet.

For many years, Anne produced and presented a business documentary series highlighting Sri Lankan SMEs. That experience gave her a front-row view of the island’s entrepreneurial spirit—the opportunities, the challenges, and the remarkable individuals driving success with distinctly local character. Years later, during the quiet of the pandemic, those stories and insights inspired a new mission: to help such businesses grow beyond their limitations. Goodfolks was born from that calling—to enable the next generation of Sri Lankan success stories by addressing the real challenges that keep entrepreneurial dreams in pause.

Why we started

Sri Lanka is blessed with exceptional natural ingredients and skilled producers, yet many small businesses struggle to earn what their work is truly worth. We started Goodfolks to change that. We saw the need for a bridge — one that helps local producers refine their craft, reach new markets, and build long-term livelihoods through fair value realisation. At the same time, people everywhere are seeking food that’s honest, sustainable, and good for them.

Goodfolks was created to bring those two worlds together — empowering small producers while offering consumers food that’s pure, purposeful, and proudly Sri Lankan. Every jar, pouch, and bottle we make carries that shared promise of progress, fairness, and care.

Brand purpose and message

Our purpose is to make doing good feel natural. At Goodfolks, we believe food can be both delicious and deeply meaningful — a way to nurture people, communities, and the planet all at once. We exist to support small producers, uplift local supply chains, and deliver food that reflects care at every step. Our message is simple: Do good. Feel good.

Every product you enjoy contributes to a fairer and more sustainable food system. Through our continuous improvement process, we help producers not only add value but also realise it — ensuring that progress is shared by everyone who takes part in our journey.

Brand values

Purpose & Fairness — We act with intention and ensure fairness across our entire value chain.
Authenticity & Transparency — We keep it real — no additives, no shortcuts, no hidden agendas.
Regeneration & Responsibility — We care for soil, people, and ecosystems with every decision.
Learning & Improvement — We believe in growing together through constant reflection and refinement.
Integrity & Optimism — We lead with honesty, optimism, and a belief that business can be a force for good.

These values shape how we work, what we create, and how we measure success — not just in profit, but in purpose.

Brand impact

From the start, Goodfolks has focused on turning good intentions into measurable change. By helping small producers improve quality, safety, and packaging, we’ve enabled them to access new markets and achieve real value for their work. Our partnerships promote regenerative farming, fair pricing, and reduced waste across supply chains. Each step is guided by our commitment to continuous improvement — making sure progress benefits both people and planet.

Through this model, we’re not only creating better food products from Sri Lanka but also helping shape a more equitable, transparent, and sustainable food ecosystem for everyone involved.
